The latest Hunger Games trailer, though only a few minutes short, manages to transform the most important aspects in the book into cinematic glory. It starts with a glimpse of Katniss and Gale hanging out and hunting; then instantly brings us to the suspense of the reaping, which impeccably captures the solemn mood and desolate picture that was painted in the book. Minus the comedic clown-like appearance of Elizabeth Banks as Effie, I felt goosebumps as our heroine stepped up to save her sister from the dreaded hunger games.



I've always felt that Josh Hutcherson was a great choice for Peeta Mellark, despite a couple of fans wishing for someone else and now that I've seen his absolutely spot-on delivery of the pained look that I always imagined Peeta had, I'm even more supportive of the choice! I mean seriously, just check this out:


The eyes! The slight tension in the jaw! It's just amazing!

After the reaping, we are quickly transported to the futuristic city of the Capitol, then we see Katniss' beautiful gown (sans the flambe):


Then Peeta's suit:


... Then some of the tributes (with special mention of Rue), the training ground, Woody Harrelson's Haymitch (hilarious and super on character!), Katniss showing off her archery skills, Gale going emo on us (because he doesn't have much face time in the movie perhaps?) and then just a brief but quite heart-thumping look at the battle to come. Whew, that's a handful!

That's it for me now. I'm supposed to be resting my eyes right now but I just couldn't help but blog about this exciting Hunger Games Teaser trailer. It's just so exciting and March is just a couple of sleepless nights away!
